Thanksgiving is a time where families gather together, sharing laughter and tables covered in delicious food. It’s a time for spreading love and appreciation to the people around you. What better way to spread the spirit of Thanksgiving than by giving back to a family in need in our very own city of Cape Coral? I, along with a few other students from Oasis High School, will be raising money to donate to the Community Cooperative Ministries (CCMI) to do just that: provide a Thanksgiving meal to a family who otherwise wouldn’t have one. This organization works to eliminate hunger in our community by providing the necessary resources to strengthen those affected by hunger, helping them to turn their lives around. Through their Holiday Helpers initiative, I will be raising $100 in order to provide a meal to two families with 4-6 members each. All funds raised will go directly to the program, who will use it to create baskets that will be presented to each family on Thanksgiving.
