Use by Minors. The Service is intended for use by adults and youths over the age of 13. In connection with the Service, GoEnnounce allows students under the age of 13 to utilize the service only with the participation of and activation by a parent or guardian. GoEnnounce offers a primary Digital Citizenship curriculum to schools and districts which integrates with the use of Student Page profile as a portfolio and parent engagement tool. A parent or guardian must authenticate and activate a child under the age of 13’s account. A child does not have access to his/her Student Page profile until the parent activates the account. Upon activation, the parent becomes the child’s “Follower” and receives every e-nnouncement post the child shares via email, instantly as the child posts updates. Students are encouraged to share academic and extracurricular updates, goals and accomplishments as e-nnouncement posts to their Student Page profile and start to build a student portfolio.
A child under the age of 13 is locked on a setting of “Top Secret” until he/she turns 13. When a child is “Top Secret” on GoEnnounce his/her profile is hidden (only accessible by the parent or guardian via a login passcode and the teacher or administrator who licensed use of the Service for the child), and cannot be indexed by search engines. If the teacher or administrator who licensed use of the profile enables a “Class” feed, for students to interact and practice networking, apply digital literacy and digital communication lessons, the students in the “class” feed can see e-nnouncement posts of other students in the feed but students cannot access each other’s Student Page profiles.
Children under 13 are monitored by the Service under same standards set forth in the Terms of Service. Access to Go Classes, Go Opportunities and global feeds are disabled for children under 13
The Company intends to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are under the age of 13, your parent must sign up with their contact information.
