Journey to Thailand

I will be traveling to Thailand June 12-26, 2014. I am going with an organization known as Youthlinc. Youthlinc is a non profit organization and promotes service by sending groups to different countries to do volunteer work. I will be going as a student and can't wait to serve the people of Thailand! Everything that i raise will go directly to my fees to travel there. The cost for one person is $3,665. I have been able to fundraiser a lot of it and was blessed with a legacy sponsorship of $900 dollars from Youthlinc. Yay! A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY JOURNEY: We will leave to Thailand on June 12th. We will finally make it to Thailand after four plane changes. Wohhooo for plane rides ;) The longest flight will be sixteen hours. Once we arrive there, we will then spend two weeks taking care of the Moken people. For those who do not know about the Mokens, They are a group of people who live out on the ocean in boats. Everything they own is on a boat and they live off of fish to survive. A little before the tsunami hit Thailand, the Moken people could sense something was wrong with the ocean so they docked there boats and made there way up to high ground. The tsunami hit destroying there boats and left them behind with nothing. Because they lived out on the ocean, they were not accepted as Thai citizens so the government couldn't take care of them. Youthlinc has gone up for the past couple years and taken care of them. It will be the most humbling unique experience. While we are there, we will focus on five main categories for education. *Community Health *Cultural Exchange *Vocational Training *Micro enterprise *Education We will also help them in many other ways. Because the Mokens have their own language, we will communicate by first translating from English to Thai, and then from Thai to there language. Please help support me in having this amazing experience. Donations of any amount would be much appreciated! Thank you!
