I am going to be a senior at Cy-Fair High School! Although I'm sad that I will have to go my separate way from my friends and family, I'm super excited to be able to start my own path in life and college is my first step. I live with my dad, my sister, my brother, his wife and her sister, and my nephew is soon to be added to this crazy household! My dad never got to go to college and has done his best to send 2 kids to college. He is a diabetic and as he has grown older has become more vulnerable to diseases. He has experienced kidney stones and has been warned that he may not be able to see in the near future. He has inspired me to go into medicine and to succeed. I hope to help people that are sick and struggling like my father, and I hope to be successful in order to be able to take care of him. I love volunteering and helping out causes. I'm also a huge animal lover and "tree-hugger", so you will see a lot of posts about different causes. Being in high school is though and sometimes people don't realize how tough some of us have it. Therefore, even if I don't know you, I hope you will support and encourage me and help me in the future! :) Thanks for caring! read more

Close Up Washington DC program

I've never really been able to go anywhere due to my father's financial situation, but my government teacher is offering his students a chance to go to Washington D.C. It's a 5-day trip, and I'll be able to gain college credit and learn a lot of exciting things about what goes on in the White House! If I'm lucky, I may even be able to meet the president! I'm a senior and my dad is already having trouble finding a way to send me to college, but I don't want to miss out on this opportunity. Please help!
