I'm a project-seeking, ever-active 20-year-old student studying history and mass communications and journalism. I love presenting ideas and meeting new people! I grew up in Petaluma, the most beautiful little dairy town nestled in the California wine country. Having been camping and traveling the western US since I was three months old, travel is not only my passion--it's my air and water. I hope to unite my love of exploration with my interest in cultures and my skills in media and research to enter the global stage of international ambassadorship, business, or NGO representation. read more

USAC Spring Semester Abroad in Viterbo Italy

Next spring I will be studying travel writing, photography, history, and Italian culture at Università degli Studi della Tuscia in Viterbo! I chose this USAC program for its unique combination of history, journalism and art, which will build my History major and Mass Communications & Journalism minor in a most eye-opening and memorable way. The opportunity to live abroad not as an ambassador of one nation but a student of many nations is one I have long yearned for. On this journey I hope to meet students from other countries who share my passions for travel and story-telling; with such a collection of friendly journeyers, I will not only get to experience Italy but, through the stories of their homes, other nations as well. My program costs $6,280, excluding housing, living expenses, meals, and program additions--pushing the cost of this experience closer to $10,000. However, you can help me achieve my goals with just a few dollars! $1.38 can buy a cup of coffee $5.46 can buy a pizza $15.81 can give me a night in a Roman hostel $96 can secure all my textbooks and school supplies $500 (25 people donating just $20 can do this!) can send me on a Southern Italy Field Study during which I will travel to Sorrento, Napoli, Pompei, Amalfi and Caserta and write travel essays $500 can also let me live with an Italian family to experience the I Pugnaloni flower festival $1,147 (that's 30 people donating roughly $40) allows me to live in the dorms on campus for the semester SPECIAL NOTE: To the first 20 philanthropists who donate $100 or more, I will send you a published book of my travel photography upon my return from Italy. Significantly higher donations will receive more content or, if requested, specialized content. For those who donate under $100, or who are not in the first 20 over-$100 donors, I will send you a handmade book/journal of what I experience and photograph in Europe. Your investment pays off! Whether it's $1, $10 or $100, your donation will make a world of difference!
