Study Abroad

The funds donating will go to my Study Abroad trip to Costa Rica. This trip is from May 4th - May 31st and it will be a month of intensive Spanish so I will come back with extra credits toward my minor. This is what all of your donations will cover: REST OF PROGRAM COSTS : My program is $2,700 total and I only have $1,300 in scholarships from my home school of MTSU. The entire program includes : TUITION – Tuition at Universidad Veritas. ACCOMMODATIONS – Includes two meals per day (breakfast and dinner, excluding ISA excursion days) and laundry service once per week for the official duration of the program. Lunch is not included. There are typically two participants per homestay (so I will have a roommate) . RESIDENT DIRECTOR – ISA has full-time resident staff members to assist myself and other students with all aspects of their experience abroad, including academic advising during registration. On-site directors arrange the orientation, weekly meetings, cultural activities, and much more. ON-SITE OFFICE - Internet access, study rooms, and ISA staff are available at the ISA office during regular office hours. CULTURAL ACTIVITIES - The resident directors will organize activities in and around San Jose. Activities will be announced by the resident directors at the weekly ISA meeting. TUTORIAL ASSISTANCE – Tutorial assistance is offered to students enrolled in language classes; assistance is arranged by the on-site directors and should be scheduled in advance, and consists of a maximum of 1 hour per week. MEDICAL INSURANCE – I will have medical coverage for the official on-site period of the program. However It does not include : 1. ROUND TRIP AIRFARE FROM THE UNITED STATES TO COSTA RICA. 2. DAILY LUNCH. 3. SNACKS AND BEVERAGES. 4. LUNCH WHILE IN SAN JOSE. 5. TELEPHONE CALLS. 6. FEES INCURRED FOR PASSPORT, STUDENT VISA, FLIGHT/AIRLINE FEES, ENTRY/DEPARTURE FEES, BAGGAGE FEES, AND/OR AIRPORT TAXES. 7. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION. 8. PERSONAL EXPENSES. 9.TEXTBOOKS AND MATERIALS. 10. EXCURSIONS. 11. ADDITIONAL EXPENSES FOR MANDATORY COURSE FIELD TRIPS (IF APPLICABLE). 12. AIRPORT RECEPTION AND DROP-OFF. Money for these things will be coming from my own personal funds. This is important to me because it is a once in a lifetime experience. I've been given an opportunity to take advantage of what the world has to offer me so why not take it? My reasoning for study abroad is to develop my skills in Spanish so that I can come back to the United States, graduate, and hopefully open my own child care center with an ESL (English as a Second Language) and with my study abroad experience I can influence more people to follow their dreams because when you are able to step outside of your comfort zone, you are able to figure out who you are and what your purpose is I am not asking for one person to donate the whole sum. If one person could donate $5, $10, or even $20 per person is fine. Every donation gets me a step closer to Costa Rica in May!!
